Because of the stigma surrounding depression, and all mental illness, it can be hard for some to reach out. The best way to help those suffering is to educate yourself on depression and do your part to eliminate the stigma, which keeps a lot of people from reaching out and receiving treatment despite how badly they might feel. Tell your loved one that you are there for them and ask what you can do to help during depressive episodes or another mental condition.
